The Best Beer Margarita Recipe

June 4 by Christie Leave a Comment

“Christie, we need another pitcher!” I hear this so often when I make Beer Margaritas at parties. This has become a favorite among my friends and me.  In 2006, my extended family took a vacation to the beach over Thanksgiving and my aunt introduced us to the Beer Margarita. This was years before restaurants started to put a little Corona bottle on the side of margarita glasses for their own form of a Beer Margarita. With this recipe you can easily entertain guests at your home with your own Beer Rita.  But be ready for your guests to love it and you’ll need another pitcher ready in the fridge.

I started to serve this drink at my Cinco de Mayo parties and had to buy more pitchers to make sure I had enough on hand.  I also taught my guests how to make them so I wasn’t stuck in the kitchen all night making the drinks. Because this drink has become so popular, guests now bring tequila, Corona, and limeade to my margarita parties! They know how fast we can drink several pitchers. One time we were all at a big party at a friend’s house and we didn’t have limeade, but there was a bag of limes. So, some of the guys decided to try to squeeze enough limes to make their own limeade for a Beer Rita. Warning, this did NOT work! However, I was amused at the effort these guys were willing to put in to try to make this drink!

Let’s mix up some Beer Margaritas!

Now let’s get you ready to serve these drinks at your next party. First, run out and pick up a couple of plastic pitchers to be ready for your guests. I like to use the pitchers you see at restaurants that are used for refilling your water.

Ingredients (per pitcher)

  • 1 limeade concentrate container you can find this in the freezer section of your grocery store
  • 2 bottles of Corona
  • Tequila

Directions:

  1. Pour the container of frozen limeade into the pitcher (If you don’t like too much lime flavor use only ½-¾ of the can per pitcher)
  2. Fill up half the empty limeade container with tequila and pour into the pitcher
  3. Pour in the 2 bottles of Corona
  4. Stir and serve

Your guests will enjoy this refreshing Beer Rita.

Beer Margarita Tips and Tricks to Dazzle your Guests:

  1. Serve in margarita glasses. I have found margarita glasses with a cactus shape as the stem in the dollar store for years.
  2. Buy margarita salt and add salt to the rim of the glasses.
  3. Cut limes into wedges and place on the rim of the glass.
  4. Serve your favorite chips and salsa or homemade nachos with these drinks. Put the chips and salsa into decorative serving bowls.
  5. In addition,  mix up an entire batch and leave it in the fridge or mix just the limeade and tequila and add the beer  into the pitcher right before serving your guests.

Cheers! You’re ready to serve this awesome drink to your guests.
