Hobby Lobby inspired me to host a party. After a year+ of not hosting a gathering it just didn’t cross my mind until I walked into Hobby Lobby and saw the 4th of July party decorations. I HAD to have them and I HAD to host a party!
Here are simple table top decorations and, of course, a menu to serve at your 4th of July party.
4th of July Party Decor
All the table decor can be found at Hobby Lobby (2021)
The overall feel I was trying for is patriotic country. My husband actually selected the truck table cover. I gave in, I am so glad I did!
The truck table cloth is printed the long way, which threw me a bit because I had in mind the guests would see the trucks up and down and not sideways.
After moving the table cloth many times, I decided to grab a solid blue color table cloth so I could cover the whole table and use the truck cloth as an accent. A red, white or blue cloth would be great under it.
Get ready to serve the hot dogs in style!
Buffalo checks are everywhere and this tray just had to come home with me!
I always wanted to serve hot dogs in this style of basket so I had to buy these too.
TIP – If you are serving a lot of people, you can make the hot dogs earlier in the day and keep them warm wrapped in foil.
Cook up your hot dogs, place in the buns and wrap tightly in aluminum foil.
Then store in a cooler (without ice) and your dogs will stay warm for a long time.
Display your hot dogs on this tarty when it’s time to serve. The aluminum foil will be the liner to the basket once the hot dog is unwrapped.
Set up condiments for your dogs near the tray or at a separate table.
Make sure you have plenty of napkins,
Eating a meal on your lap can get messy! These adorable truck pails are the perfect holder for napkins.
I like to have napkins available at the start of a line because sometime, you just get a little something on your fingers that you want to clean off before you pick up the next item on the table.
At the end of the line, have the utensils wrapped in a napkin so the guests can easily grab and go to their seat.
Avoid juggling utensils while loading up your plate by placing the utensils at the end of the line.
I rolled up blue plastic utensils with the napkins purchased at Hobby Lobby. Then tie together with some ribbon you have in the house. This makes it a simple grab and go place setting
Add a Little Somethin’
Add dimension to your table by placing a small box under the table cloth to give some height to the table then top with decorations.
This simple technique makes a big statement to a table setting. You want to have an odd number of items for decoration but this works well because while there are only two items, there are three decorations viable.
Use a clear bowl to serve the fruit salad which in turns allows the colors of the fruit to decorate the table. These Uncle Sam hat cups are perfect for serving up a salad or even ice cream for dessert!
